I smoked cannabis every day for almost 20 years. Bought a volcano about 10 years ago, to try and get away from combustion, but it just never gave me a satisfying high (even maxing out at 440F).
Then one day a buddy brought a Dynavap over and it hit really solid. My first time vaping flower and getting a GOOD high. So I bought the M7XL + ispire wand shortly after and was happy for a few weeks, but kept accidentally combusting and knew there had to be better devices out there. Did some research, and that's where I was drawn towards The Simrell.
At first it seemed overpriced, but this thing is built to last. The titanium cap is SO much better than the Dyna cap, it makes my M7XL's cap feel like a cheap toy. The hits are much milkier with the Simrell and best of all, much easier to prevent combustion. Exactly what I was looking for. I have fallen in love with cannabis all over again, thanks to this incredible engineering.
Only improvements I could think of are a bigger bowl and possibly a bigger cap / thermal capacitor for more heat retention so you can milk longer. But I have no problem packing 2 in a row (using the cooling stand for quicker CD), if the first rip doesn't send me flying :)
It is hard to imagine anything performing better than this device. As with any butane heated device, it will take a little to learn what works, but once you do it hits dingers every time
5 star, this monster hits way better than Dyna. The build quality is top notch, fit and feel in the hand is amazing. If you are reading this stop what you are doing and buy one now.
Angry Italian-
When I saw the pre-order emails I was tempted, because everything I've bought from Austyn is high quality, functions on point, and I love the simple and elegant aesthetic. However, since I have a number of good butane and battery vapes already, I couldn't immediately justify another.
Then the reviews started to come out as the pre-orders and early adopters received their devices, and the feedback was so overwhelmingly positive that I decided to buy one. It took me two attempts since they sell out fast, but now that I've had my Simrell TED for a few days I'm blown away. Like others have said, this device has relegated my former favorites to the shelf; my Dynas, Tempest, TM2, etc. are all gathering dust.
The vapor quality is stellar, and though I laughed at the idea of "creamy vapor" when I saw the Sneaky Pete live, it really is an apt description. The heat retention is so much better than my Tempest, and the flavor is better as well. The heat up in the Wand is very similar to the Tempest, yet the cooldown is much faster on the Simrell. To me, this device is the most joint-like experience yet and I can get 5 or 6 good size hits on one heat up, with full extraction at the end. The full device feels great in the hand, with perfect weight and nice balance, substantial, but not clunky or heavy. Finally, I just love the elegance of all the Simrell products, Austyn has a great eye for design.
I've already ordered the stand, since they were sold out when I bought the device, and I look forward to getting some gallery sleeves and other bits and bobs as the Simrell TED ecosystem is built upon. Just buy it, you won't be disappointed!
