01 · XL compatibility

The XL Engine on Your Titanium Vortex

The XL Stem Adapter threads onto your Titanium Vortex stem and gives you XL threads on the other end. Your XL chamber and thermal assembly thread right on. The Titanium Vortex stem also gives you a 10mm connection for water pieces.

You get the capacity of the XL with the hand-to-mouth feel of the Simrell: Titanium.

02 · Heat and grip

Precision Machined From Titanium

The adapter adds thermal mass, so it soaks up some of the heat during a session.

Its grip gives you something to hold onto when you're putting the device together or taking it apart.

03 · Sleeve

Add the Blackwood XL Sleeve

The adapter comes on its own. Our XL Blackwood Sleeve fits over it. It helps reduce heat transfer and provides a stronger grip for handling the XL engine.

04 · What you'll need

Bring Your Own Stem and XL Engine

The adapter is made for the Titanium Vortex stem. You'll also need the XL chamber and thermal assembly, which right now come only with the Hydro XL.

The stem, sleeve, chamber and thermal assembly are not included.

The stem and sleeve can get warm during back-to-back heat cycles. If they feel hot, let them cool before handling.

05 · 8mm compatibility

Possible on 8mm Stems, Use Caution

Pair the XL Stem Adapter with our Titanium Stem Adapter and the XL engine becomes an 8mm tip, so it fits our legacy Vortex and MVS stems and other 8mm-compatible stems.

Use caution when running the XL this way. An o-ring connection is not as secure as the threaded one, and the XL chamber and thermal assembly are heavier than a standard 8mm tip.

Titanium Stem Adapter sold separately. Tip: to tighten up the o-ring connection, you can use a 6x1.1mm o-ring.
